The AVP, SAP FPSL & Technical Lead participates in analyzing, designing, and assisting of SAP FPSL solutions with focus on end-to-end processes, supporting all relevant business requirements and system architecture to fulfill Fortitude-re needs. The role will create various reports, functional and technical documentation.  This role will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid basis. What You Will Do:
  • Manage and coordinate with BAU teams with support for FPSL application after implementation, including daily support, error handling, additional configuration, reconciliation, problem identification, reporting, tracking analysis and resolution.
  • Manage and coordinate with BAU teams with support in the architecture of SAP FPSL, BTP, ABAP and all other Accelerators at the implementation phase and further support after the implementation.
  • Translate business requirements into functional/technical design and solutions
  • Lead & design and implement of other Data integrations or other tools into SAP FPSL as we acquire into the company.
  • Resolve technical issues in all SAP environments, using ABAP, Business Add-In (BAdI) , CDS views, connections knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Manage user creations and roles assignment. Maintain user profiles in adherence to compliance and standard operation procedures.
  • Perform initial setup, prototype, configuration, and testing to support the design sessions and to fulfill future business requirements after the implementation.
  • Design and document the required configurations for SAP FPSL as per the blueprint, including documenting test results, and support go-live efforts.
  • Recommend best practices for configuring SAP FPSL considering the overall architecture to achieve integration, high performance, and stability.
  • Work closely with end users to design the proper SAP FPSL solution(s) to support defined business processes and business requirements.
  • Actively participate in training and knowledge transfer sessions to enable end users to understand SAP FPSL.
  • Independently test the solution designed for major enhancements and continuous improvements
  • Work closely with key business users to prioritize and work closely with the BAU team to resolve production issues within the subledger function.
  • Hold regular stakeholder communications on BAU activities and KPI’s that includes continuous improvements and automation efforts
  • Design and implement automation of manual processes
  • Should be able to address technical and functional issues.
What You Will Have:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in SAP Finance and Controlling.
  • At least 1 E2E SAP FPSL Implementations and supporting FPSL application after implementation.
  • Knowledge of SAP best practices and standardized business processes.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Accounting (US GAAP, US STAT, FX)
  • Knowledge of FPSL system Configuration (e.g. Derivation Rule framework)
  • Knowledge of FPSL Data model
  • Knowledge of SAP workflow configuration
  • SAP BW – understanding of the BW environment and DSO
  • SAP BTP – knowledge of the platform and how to set up connection b/w SAP and other environments
  • SAP ABAP programming skills
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Possess critical thinking skills with an ability to research and solve complex problems or questions and ability to clearly communicate with internal/external team members regarding issues and deliverables.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
Base Salary Range
$140,000$190,000 USD
