Job Description:
PSEG operates under a Flexible Work Model where flexible work is offered when job requirements allow. In support of this model, roles have been categorized into one of four work location categories:- Onsite roles
- Hybrid roles (a blend of onsite and remote work)
- Remote local roles (primarily home-based but require some level of purpose-driven in-person interaction and living within a commutable distance)
- Remote non-local roles (can be effectively performed remotely with the ability to work in approved states)
Job Summary:
Manage Information Technology's strategic vendor management program, including developing the strategies to leverage and expand partnerships with IT's key vendors. The Strategic VMO Manager will oversee managed services and material commodities, identify opportunities for strategic sourcing, and develop/maintain relationship management strategies for IT vendors and commodities.
This is a "Project" position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs. Following this period, you will separate from the Company. It is important to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs, at which point you will separate from the Company. This employment is of limited duration, and you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.
Job Responsibilities:
Vendor Management Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate IT's contract management, vendor performance management, contractor/managed service providers, and external sourcing programs.
- Manage, develop, and lead the VMO team responsible for contract management and vendor performance management.
External Stakeholders:
- Operate a program to build vendor relationships to provide quality materials and services at the lowest total cost that meet or exceed business requirements while maintaining the smallest possible vendor base needed.
- Provide support and manage high-profile vendor relationships on projects in coordination with IT SLT.
Internal Stakeholders:
- Build long-term, strategic relationships with IT leaders, maintaining a strong understanding of the industry and associated business strategies.
- Ensure the supply of vendors with products and services aligned to these strategies.
- Monitor relationships with key stakeholders and identify pain points in the process, prioritizing opportunities for improvement.
Financial/Contract/Metrics:
- Negotiate at senior level on technical and commercial issues.
- Increase efficiency and reduce supplier spend and risk.
Other Strategic Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and execute continuous improvement projects with key stakeholders including EPMO, IT, and Procurement.
- Understand position in the market, company risk level, product offerings, diversity, and other items.
Job Specific Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, IT/CS with 8+ years of work experience/5+ years People Management experience, or in lieu of a degree, 10+ years work experience/5+ years People Management experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft 0365, SAP, Ariba.
Desired:
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s) in business or accounting.
- ITIL Foundations Certification preferred.
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 8 years of experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Information Technology or Business.
- Bachelor’s in Technical.
Certifications:
